About KiwiOra

KiwiOra was founded through our firsthand experiences of working directly with people and communities facing significant challenges. Our mission is to address pressing issues at the grassroots level, focusing on cultural and socio-economic needs within Aotearoa New Zealand. While our work extends across various groups, we place particular emphasis on supporting Mฤori, Pacific, and South Asian communities, as well as specific areas within Auckland.

We acknowledge that we cannot fix all the worldโ€™s problems. However, by focusing on areas where our strengths align with the greatest needs, we aim to make a meaningful impact. At KiwiOra, we are committed to building bridges between Aotearoaโ€™s diverse communities while upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi) and embracing Te Ao Mฤori (the Mฤori worldview).

Our Focus Areas

  • Wellness: Promoting both mental and physical health through community-focused initiatives.
  • Social Support: Providing tailored individual or group support to meet social service needs.
  • Education & Advocacy: Collaborating with community leaders to drive education, awareness, and advocacy efforts.
  • Community Connection: Partnering with individuals, organizations, and businesses to foster communication, cohesion, and integration within Aotearoaโ€™s diverse communities.

What We Do

  • Daily Free Cooked Meals: Served Monday to Friday at 4 pm to support those in need.
  • Monthly Grocery Giveaways: Held once a month to help families stock up on essential supplies.
  • Seasonal Clothing Giveaways: Organized as needed, based on demand, to provide clothing to those who need it most.
  • Education Workshops: Empowering individuals and families through practical and engaging learning opportunities.
  • Cultural Workshops: Showcasing the rich diversity of our communities through events and activities.

KiwiOra strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all, working collaboratively to strengthen the well-being and resilience of our communities. Together, we can address todayโ€™s challenges and build a better tomorrow.
