Our Sustainable Marketย makes a vibrant addition to theย Townย Centre.ย Ably organised by Trust member Paula Kroese, this is a place to pause and shop your heart out. Its also the place to ย enjoy socialising, and talking sustainability as a community. ย
This Marketย began inย 2013 as theย colourfulย Homemade Market, outside theย Pahurehureย Shopping Centre. In 2015, ย re branded, the Handmade Market celebrated its 2ndย birthday at its new indoor venue at theย Papakuraย Recreation Centre with 40 stall holders attending on a regular basis. Now the market operates under its new name, โSustainable Papakura Marketโ, in the very accessible Library Foyer in theย Papakuraย Town Centre.ย
A great local sustainable market, showcasing local art, craft, small businesses, sustainable products and sustainable workshops.
Every 3rd Saturday of the month, from the foyer of Papakura Library, Great South Road/East Street, Papakura from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.
The markets goal is to create a community hub where people can come to learn more about going sustainable / plastic free but also seeing what talented artists and crafters we have on offer in the community.ย We like to support other community groups and organisations, the small way we do this is offering a space at each market to help groups with fundraising.
We have a selection of sustainable living items to purchase: beeswax wraps, various reusable bags (shopping, produce, freezer, bakery goods), craft/gardeners aprons.
